Brunch with Charlotte Guibe
| If you haven’t seen Charlotte Guibe’s Solo exhibition “Dinners” or if you wish to meet or say goodbye to the artist before she is going back to France, join us for a BRUNCH at Jiali this Sunday, December 9th from 1:00 to 6:00 PM!
Her series Dinners is an invitation to get deeper into the painting. The viewer does not look at this presentation of figures seated at tables but is instead encouraged to taste the still life. The chestnut colour, used in shadow and light, plays a fundamental role in form and space in Charlotte’s painting. The tones see faces melt into abstract thoughts and the composition allows another dimension to emerge and reveal itself to the viewer. Some bodies, substances and feelings can emit and transmit luminescence or phosphorescence that persists thanks to the opacity of the image and can also create very evocative light in scenes such as the Couple at dinner, Business dinner, Dinner with Théo Court. It is a question of time spent immersed in the image, the sense of the image building up, a faithful picture that is however something other than photography.
